Adding Friends in MySpace

Ok, so you've registered for a MySpace account, set up your cool layout and background, and uploaded your best picture. But why aren't other members seem to notice your profile? Why is it that you're stuck with Tom as your only friend? Lol.

As much as you'd want to be popular on MySpace, most of the members would like to do so, too. And popularity can not be achieved overnight -- unless you use one of those Friend Adder software that would let you add about a thousand friends to your account in just 1 day, but I'm pretty sure would involve you in some spamming strategies. So, if you want to maintain a clean account, do not take chances with these software...especially since there are actually pretty effective (and decent) ways to add friends in MySpace!

So, you want to add and meet new friends, right? Here are some of the ways you should consider:

1. Make an interesting profile. Make sure to fill up all the info needed. Make a vivid description of yourself in the About Me section, but make sure that it's true and that you're being yourself.

2. Customize your profile. Choose cool backgrounds and layout themes for your MySpace profile. You can even embed funny or amazing images, accessories, music, and videos that would be interesting for other users.

3. Upload several good, quality personal pictures of yours. Most MySpace users look at the photos of other users first before checking their profile. Plus, in the Browse section of MySpace, only picture and name of users are being displayed, so your picture is among the first things to be seen by other people looking for new friends.

4. Communicate. Send and reply to messages. In making friend requests, it's better to make it personal so users won't think that you're just a spammer trying to make gazillion friends in MySpace.

5. Be nice and polite. Users wouldn't want to be friends with rude, insensitive people! So thank them for compliments, comment back, and greet them with a what's up? every once in a while.

Most importantly, just be yourself. Stop pretending to be someone else. You can be popular in MySpace but it takes time, patience, and a little effort..Good luck and have fun meeting new people! :)
